1812 Winter Training in the Niagara Region

In the past, the Lincoln Milita has trained at the armoury facilities of The Lincoln and Welland Regiment; our modern day descendants in the Canadian Forces. We enjoy the strong, friendly relationship we have with these modern service men and women and have always mutually supported each other. In the last year however, the Canadian Forces has required that every facility owned by them, including the armouries on Lake street, conform to their rental policy no matter who is using the building. In the past we've been able to use their training area gratis but due to the enforcement of this rule, we would now be required to pay roughly $70 every time we used it. Since we are an organization of volunteers, we obviously cannot afford fees like that. So sadly, we've had to drop our monthy training sessions and may add something new for training onto our spring timetable. That has yet to be determined.

If you've never seen the armouries, here are outside and inside shots of it.

Thanks once again to The Lincoln and Welland Regiment for lending us their facilities since 2003. Your hospitality has been appreciated through the years!
